My Somatic classes focus on gentle floor exercises. The classes are a self enquiry into movement. The principles of this class will be an awareness of your own body, slow, subtle movement and ways of moving that avoid painful areas.
The principles used in my classes are moving with awareness, slowing down while doing each exercise, stay away from discomfort or pain while moving and allowing the body to feel safe while creating the pattern or shape of the movement.
The exercises are about noticing what the sensations of movements are , and trying to create ease in the body. During a term we move through the different parts of the body, bringing into focus the shoulder girdle, hips, spine and so on to connect us into whole body movement.
